Core Mechanic

Count 5s and 6s as hits. Beat the opposing pool's hits to succeed. Zero hits = automatic fail.

Skill + Attribute + Mods vs. Opposing Pool

Edge (Pre-Roll)

Announce before rolling. Get +1 die and count 4s, 5s, 6s as hits.

+1 die · 4/5/6 = hit

Edge (Post-Roll)

After seeing the result, re-roll every die that isn't a 5 or 6. Still only 5/6 count.

Edge Budget

You can spend a number of Edge points equal to your Edge rating per session. Plan it.

Specializations

+2 dice when the specific condition is met. Light Pistols spec only applies to light pistols, not all firearms.

Plot Points

Start each session with 3, max 5. Interrupt a Narration, heal a box, change turn order, add a glitch die, take the hit for an ally, free counterattack.

Glitch Die

Costs 1 Plot Point to add. Roll alongside the pool.

1 → Glitch (bad twist)
5/6 → Exploit (good twist)

Both can trigger even on a failed roll.

Condition Monitors

Physical Max = (STR ÷ 2, round up) + 8
Stun Max = (WIL ÷ 2, round up) + 8

First third: no penalty
Second third: −1 die
Final third: −2 dice
Filled: down / out

Combat Defense

Defender rolls Agility + Logic against the attacker's hits. Net hits add to damage.

AGL + LOG (+ effects)

Perception

Attribute-only test. Roll Logic + Willpower against difficulty or opposing Stealth + Agility.

LOG + WIL

Weapon Ranges

OK — no penalty
−X — dice penalty at that range
— cannot be used at that range

Close ≈ melee. Near ≈ pistol range (~100m). Far ≈ rifle and beyond.

Narration Loop

GM kicks the round. Player to GM's left goes next, then around the table. Plot Points can interrupt.

Each Narration ≈ one Combat Action or a short non-combat beat.

Teamwork

Helpers make the appropriate Skill Test. Each hit becomes a bonus die for the leader, capped at the leader's Skill rating.

Not allowed for: spellcasting, conjuring, most combat.

Unarmed

Damage = (STR ÷ 2, round up) Stun.
